I prefer a dark background but would prefer it not to be completely flat colour. I don't want photographs/people etc. there - maybe abstract shapes visible (but low opacity) in the back ground as per the example. The new logo is the first in a basket of products that will use a similar style and the same palette. I need the logo (or versions of the logo) to work on either dark or light backgrounds. I have provided three separate colour palettes - I like all of them - so pick one you like and go from there please.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
