InsuranceAgency got their new web page design by running a design contest:

Accounting & Financial
We sell long-term care insurance; our target audience are ages 55 - 65; planning for retirement, w/ assets to protect; 2/3rds are female.
We like to play off the blue of our logo (and believe in "color theory" that it's a good choice for insurance & finance). We generally prefer a simpler palette, the better to emphasize CTA's through contrast. Instead of showcasing each of our partners' logos and our social proof in full-color, this time we'll probably go with "tone on tone" or grayscale icons. Our feeling is that our old website has become "dated"; we'd like something that is more up-to-date & modern.
Homepage: our welcome mat to convey as quickly (ie non-verbally) as possible who we are and what we can do for our customers; define ourselves (eg. mission, core values, charities, endorsements, social proof, feedback, comments, social media, newsroom, awards & recognition); navigation; and of course a quote request Content: a workhorse page for multiple forms of content; we might insert maps or tables, like our cost-of-care map: http://www.ltc-associates.com/Content/GenworthCostofCare.aspx?sec=basics We may also insert images, videos, or text. We're open to single or multiple designs. We like the idea of every page always having a CTA (in other words, a way to request a quote). Blog: We do a lot of article and post writing but have never had it connected to our site before; this should be thematically synched.
What to avoid
Our social media properties are twitter.com/ltcassociates and facebook.com/ltcassociates and youtube.com/ltcassociates. You'll notice a consistent background and theme "Education through Social Media". Although we intend to do a much better job tying the social media sites back to the new website/blog and vice-versa, it is NOT necessary to use any graphic elements from those sites (ie chalkboard, green, photos). In fact, once the new site is re-designed, we might update all the social media properties...
