THE BRAND Wollit is a fintech brand. We exist to find financial solutions for the everyday Brit that doesn’t get them in debt but instead empower them and level the playing field. OUR FIRST PRODUCT Our first product is called a Wollit Income Promise. This offers people on zero-hour or irregular contracts, a chance to take home the same amount every month - even if their hours and earnings fluctuate. See wollit.com for more details. OUR AUDIENCE Our audience works at Pret A Manger, Sports Direct, Starbucks, McDonalds, at a care home, children’s nursery, gym or similar. They are both male and female with more female skew, aged between 18 - 25. Predominantly demographic groups C1, C2 and D. This audience looks for commercial mainstream brands to resonate with more than they do niche or hipster brands. OUR BRAND AIM Our goal is to make wollit the next big mainstream fintech brand.
We are happy with the foundation of the brand, colours, flat design icons and copy content, but it’s just not been properly designed yet. Wollit is a mainstream financial wellbeing brand. The brand is therefore positioned between a wellbeing and a tech start-up brand. The brand idea is 70% CALM and peacefulness the audience will get by using wollit and 30% simple INNOVATION & TECH. OUR EXISTING COLOURS The colours represent elements of the brand that we need to communicate peacefulness, trustworthiness, innovation. Dusky pink - This is our main peaceful calm colour. It’s role is to be a calming backdrop to our communication. Bright blue - This colour is currently being used to promote taking action (buttons) and highlight key graphic messages. Cyan - This colour is a functional colour that holds our product (see income promise calculator on homepage) Navy - For trust, financial association, we like this colour as a header and footer for this reason. Whilst we like these colours, if you have a better suggestion for each role needed, please feel free to make a suggestion. But please make sure they all are assigned a clear reason for being (peaceful, trustworthy, etc).
PAGE ONE - HOMEPAGE https://wollit.com/ This page isn’t far off being right for us. The wollit dog is good and the text image. The structure and text is exactly how we need it to read and flow for our consumer journey. The journey our audience takes is to understand the concept, try out the Income Promise calculator (in the cyan box) a move as quickly as possible to signing up for more info. The 'Take home the same amount...' line is the product USP so must not be hidden. The calculator is related to this but a 'tool' in it's own right. The hierarchy for the top sections are 1. peaceful dog and 'financial wellbeing' message 2. 'Take home' message and phone 3. IP Calculator. Any other questions, just let us know. But from a design perspective it needs some enhancing. Please think about: - Font choices - Font sizes - Overall layout (section edge shapes, transitions, box styles, button styles) - Enhancing the use of colour if needed - The benefit section 'tick' alternative WE HAVE LOTS MORE PAGES AND ASSETS TO BUILD. ONCE WE HAVE CHOSEN A DESIGNER. THERE WILL BE A LOT MORE PAID WORK TO BE DONE.
What to avoid
- We don’t like websites that look like a wordpress fintech start-up cookie cutters, cliches - Use of photographs/stock photos - Serif fonts - Cluttered space - We don't want to look like a bank
WE HAVE LOTS MORE PAGES AND ASSETS TO BUILD. ONCE WE HAVE CHOSEN A DESIGNER. THERE WILL BE A LOT MORE PAID WORK TO BE DONE. It’s very important we do not look like a standard, boring, less commercial looking fintech brand. Or a stuffy bank. But instead look very commercial and ‘high-street’ in nature. We hope that the bespoke flat design assets and our mascot ‘the wollit dog’ and key messages will help us look different. We want clean, good use of space, designs that are mobile responsive too. We’re particularly keen to have a great font and spacing. We need someone to really see the strengths of what we’ve started and work with it to enhance it without changing the core brand idea (calm/innovation). We like the flat design but it needs a good designers eye to make it work better together. Are we missing a design element, format or something else? Tell us.
