Joe Davison got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Web 2.0-Style Media & Consulting Company Design
Check out Joe Davison's Web page design contest…
We are looking to build a Web 2.0-style, clean design based on our logo. Read long description for more instructions.
What's your vision?
Desired Color Scheme: Same as logo Desired Style: Web 2.0 Accepted File Formats: Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) You can download the logo here: http://www.electron.com/logo.zip This logo should appear in the header. I'd like a centered design, fixed width. The colors used should complement the logo. I am looking for a bright and energetic look. The content area should be a two-column layout, with content segments that look like "floating boxes". The right column segments should take up about 1/3 of the width with the left column segments taking up 2/3. There should be five nav links below the header and above the content, and text nav links at the bottom. Here are some sites I like: http://www.wakeinteractive.com/ http://mint.com/ I'd like our design to have the same 'feel' as these types of sites. Here is a page about the design principles that should be followed: http://www.webdesignfromscratch.com/current-style.cfm Â

Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
Joe Davison collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
