How manakin started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Web Design for Cricket Fantasy League
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We have created a web application to allow individual cricket clubs to run their own fantasy leagues.
We are looking to get the application re-designed to make it more modern, fresh and fun as the current one is basic, simple and boring.
Our target audience are cricket clubs that wish to run their own fantasy league. This site is 100% free to use.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
. An example site can be found here hailsham.funtasycricket.co.uk.
You can see that most of the data on the site is either as a form (register, login) or as tabular data (league standings). There are a few elements missing from the current site such as:
a) Space for advertising banners and sponsor ship logos/banners.
b) Call to action for a new manager to sign up and enter a team.
c) No images and no excitement!
d) No footer which should contain things like latest tweets and links to the clubs social media
e) In the footer we also want to show Powered by FuntasyCricket (http://www.funtasycricket.com) and a call to action to encourage other clubs to create their own league.
Things to keep in mind:
1) Although the elements on the page will remain the same for each club, they have their own unique URL and as such can customise the site by uploading their club logo, selecting colour schemes or even uploading their own custom css file (Once the design is complete we will code based in Twitter Bootstrap).
2) Since the clubs logos can vary in size and colour this needs to be taken into account in the design.
3) The position, size and layout of any of the elements is not fixed and you are welcome to try as many styles as necessary. I have attached a number of ideas that might help get started.
We are looking for a design that can incorporate as many styles of elements as needed (forms, tables, error messages, success messages etc...). This was we can customise the site as and when we add new features.
Please keep in mind that many of the users that access the site will be from Mobile/Desktop and the HTML will be coded using Twitter Bootstrap.
We require a homepage that includes all the elements of the current homepage and also shows what an input form would look like including success and error messages. We should then be able to customise other pages based on the styling from the homepage.
What to avoid
Since this is meant to be a fun site then I think the use of images should be important.
