Gravity Bear is a new video game company comprised of a small group of industry veterans. Unfortunately, we’ve been spending all our time working on our game and haven’t put any time into our website yet, so we’re offering the job up to all you talented folks at 99 designs! :)
**Your Mission** Design a sleek, quirky-but-cool, creative, fun-yet-professional website that can become a defining feature of our company.
Website Usage Blurb: Initially, our updates on our website will primarily be text-based, with the occasional image tossed in (i.e. developer blogs, Gravity Bear News updates, Press Releases, etc). Over the course of the next few months, though, we’ll be transitioning to more image-based updates (i.e. screenshots, trailers, etc.) so the website should be designed with this in mind.
This contest is for the initial design of our main page. The winner will be asked to provide us with PSD files of the design with all the layered elements intact.
Home Page should contain:
-Game Display (promotional display for game graphics/screenshots/etc.)
-links to our pages on social networks
-links to: Games, Company/About Us, Forums, Jobs, etc.
Reference Images: Logo Only. You can get it at: http://gravitybear.com/logos/logos.html
NOTE: We’ll do our best to make sure we give clear & constructive feedback throughout the competition to indicate what styles, layouts, colors, etc. we like the most. We’ll also do our best do get feedback up as often as possible, but the reality is that we’re a very small team and our game takes up 110% of our time… so please bear with us! ;)
-We want you to have as much freedom on this website design contest as possible. We truly want to see a range of innovative creative designs from sleek and minimalist to conceptual and edgy. Take some risks—be creative!
-Colors: no particular color choices, but would prefer to keep it simple.
-Style: Clean, open layout.
-Genre Neutral (our games won’t be limited to one genre.)
-Must convey our brand personality – Quirky, Fun, Creative, yet Professional!
-Memorable and easily recognizable.
-Gender neutral – appeal to both male and female.
-Should appeal to a broad age group (13-99 ;)
-Don't “over-commit” to a certain theme, since we’ll be working on a variety of games in the future.
-Our site won’t be flash-heavy. We’ll likely have some flash, but we won’t be shoving it down the users’ throats.
-No rainbows of color. Prefer a unifying color palette.
-Must not be too irreverent, frivolous, silly or immature. Creativity is wonderful as long as professionalism is maintained!
-Don’t want dark, complicated and crowded.
-No very thin or small fonts that would be difficult to read.
-Don’t want it to look too much like a blog site!
Thank you all very, very much for taking part in this competition. If anyone has questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
We can't wait to see what you guys come up with!
