I am the overly optimistic and energetic founder of Koopio - a fun, early stage startup focused on the hot social commerce space.
With the emergence of so many deal-buying sites like Groupon, Living Social, TownHog, etc, we strongly believe that there is now a viable market for a useful, fun, and compelling service that can aggregate information from all these sites and present them in a simple easy to understand manner for the end users.
We are also building a lot of social aspects (e.g. being able to "follow" deals that your Facebook/Twitter friends are following, find out deals that are trending in your neighborhood, ratings, etc) into the koopio platform to drive the overall experience.
I'd like to think of Koopio as a potential disruptor in this space (similar to http://www.kayak.com and http://www.hipmunk.com are doing for travel, and http://www.airbnb.com is doing to the hotel/accomodation space). Help us make this a reality!!
The "Facebook/Twitter/Digg/Tumblr" and the "uber" smartphone user (iOS and Android) crowd.
This audience tend to be extremely tech savvy and very comfortable with searching for/talking about things that interest them via their blogs, on their twitter/facebook pages and texting on their phone.
What we are looking for is a clean, simple, yet elegant page design. Examples of the kind of sites we like (and want you to use/reference as a foundation for the website design) are, in order of likeness:
Page Title: Koopio Homepage)
Features on the page:
Form fields for search, account login
Facebook login button
Twitter login button
Facebook "like" button
Twitter "tweet" button
Digg "Digg" button
The homepage layout should be as close as possible to a site line http://www.stay.com in that:
section #1 is focused on search
section #2 would display "tending" deals in a particular city/neighborhood that the user is in (based on koopio detecting the user's geo location from the web browser)
section #3 would display the "top cities" where users are searching for Groupon-type deals (via the koopio website)
