I Spy a Bird
We are building a simple to use community website for amateur bird watchers to share their photos and experiences. The website will act as a place to keep a personal record of the birds you have seen, and provide a place to meet and chat to like minded people.
Our members are the sort of bird watchers that take pictures of birds in the garden, and not the sort who trek half way across the country to spot a bird.
Our audience is older (50+). Members are as much looking for like minded people as they are spotting birds.
A lot of our audience aren't likely to be be overly familiar with computers and the internet and may be nervous about trying things for themselves.
The winning designer will have designed the 1 page to be friendly, welcoming, relaxing and simple and will have incorporated all the elements in the attached image.
The colour scheme should match, or at least complement our logo (attached) which was designed by 99designs member Aticca.
Please assume our audience has relatively poor eyesight.
We are using the 960 grids 12 column layout (http://960.gs/). The main area (left) occupies 8 columns(640px) and the right is 4 columns (320px). The top of the right hand column will be occupied by a 300x250px advert.
We would like 1 full page showing an uploaded photo. Please see the attached file for a guide. The page elements in the image are to illustrate what should be present, feel free to move and resize them within the 2 column constraints. Please ensure the design includes a selected tab and both visited and un-visited links. Please also indicate what the header looks like when you are logged in, and not logged in.
The user-specific navigation (present on all pages) is similar to that here on 99 designs (e.g. prompt to join/login if not signed in, list of possible actions if signed in). This navigation will probably be in the header and can be done with a drop down menu if needed.
We want a layered psd file. No coding required.
