BryanH got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Online Poker Magazine/Blog Design and Logo
Check out BryanH's Web page design contest…
The design is for an online poker magazine/blog (and logo) that I am creating for a wordpress site and needs a professional, clean and attractive look. The site needs to have a homepage and a design for the article/blog pages. You can see the current site at MacPokerOnline.com.
Mac Poker Online
What's your vision?
Tagline: Your Online Guide To Mac + Poker Desired Color Scheme: Green, Black, Red, White with a white content area Desired Style: Online Magazine Style Accepted File Formats: Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) We are looking for a poker/magazine style design for MacPokerOnline.com, with a mix between the typical poker magazine site like CardPlayer.com or BluffMagazine.com and the look of non poker magazine style sites like entertainment.yahoo.com or EOnline.com. The site needs to have a 3 column homepage, and a 2 column article page (with sidebars on the right hand side) (no wider than 980px). Site will be centered. The color scheme is open for suggestion, but I prefer something with green, black, maybe some red and also white. The design should have a white body area. To get an idea for the green you can check out another one of our sites at USPokerSearch.com. The header should be able to accommodate a 468x60 ad in the right side, and homepage and sidebars should also accommodate typical ad sizes for monetization. Homepage should have plenty of areas for (images, icons for each section, a spot for video, etc) to appeal to the mainstream crowd. Even though parts of the site will be a news/review/blog, I want the homepage to appear as a website. I would like the homepage to contain a featured story with picture and then below it an excerpt from the story. Maybe a tabbed section like Yahoo's homepage. I'd also like to have an area in the sidebar for Youtube Video, 300x250 ad section and maybe the top 10 Online Poker Rooms (See PokerListings.com and ShadowFeet.com for an idea). We'd also like to incorporate a section of the homepage for Recent News, Top 10 Online Poker Rooms and another section for Top Poker Bonuses. Actual Site you will be designing for - http://www.macpokeronline.com Sites to use as inspiration: http://www.cardplayer.com http://www.bluffmagazine.com http://www.pokerlistings.com http://www.pokerteam.com http://www.launchpoker.com http://www.eonline.com http://entertainment.yahoo.com http://www.apple.com http://www.shadowfeet.com (This is a good idea of a similar layout we would like) Note: We are looking for a completely original design. These examples are only that...examples. Any questions??? Ask away!
