TheSportsLand.com
I represent the RKC Sports Group, who is looking to build a hot, fresh functional sports social network. We are just a bunch of guys who love sports and want to share it with the rest of the world while they share with us. We love sports, breathe sports, eat sports. We wake up and watch Sportscenter, check ESPN six times a day and plan our evenings around whatever game is on that night. We love sites like facebook but sometimes we wish we had our own space where we could just talk about sports instead of relationships, where he/she partied last night or your baby pictures. We are social and hip but also professional and in a comfortable part of our lives. We want to have an escape to talk about what we love most.
Mostly 18-49 yr old men of all races and demographics. We want a national site and want to maintain a virtual presence. Our users are like us, they want a social network where they don't have to see the other things that are usually associated with social networks and where they can get away from spouses, nagging girlfriends and work related things and just focus on what they love most...sports. Some may be in college, but most are just working class guys and gals who just want a place to live for sports virtually on the internet.
Please provide PSD only, site will be powered off of Joomla/JomSocial engine. We already have a Coming Soon page at http://www.thesportsland.com which reflects our blue, red and white color scheme. Logo is attached. We will need you to provide the template for at least three pages with design sketches attached.
1. Non Login Home Page
a. Very similar to Facebook, except on left side put a sports locker with memorabilia, and a screenshot of your User Profile page to lure user into registering for the site.
2. Home Page After Log in
a. This page is the main page after logging, Most of the core information will be user generated through Jom Social but show some of the options on the page with your headers and font selections. This page has a facebook like feel but you can also look at a site like fellowfisherman.com to see a site populated with JomSocial. We would like some of the same functionalities but with a better design.
3. User Profile
a. Very, very similar to facebook user profiles. Look at design sketch but lend heavily from a generic facebook login.
Designers should look at design sketches for inspiration but the design with the cleanest interface and best use of colors, font and headers will be chosen.
I am attaching design sketches and logo files.
UPDATE: Add links to homepage for rivarly page, change Rankings on user to Highlights and make abridged rankings prominent on left side of user page. Create Rankings page similiar to main module on foursquare.com non logged in page with avatar, name and trophy.
Add ESPN Style two line menu options on homepage above content below logo
Please use as many sports terms as often when designing sites like roster, highlights, drafted. Instead of thumbs up use foam finger or challenge flag for thumbs down.
