MarionAKeyes got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Keyes Family would like a new website design [2 layouts]
Check out MarionAKeyes's Web page design contest…
This is a family website and will have a public home page, and then a secure, family members only subpage.
We prefer simple to "busy" and cluttered. We have attached a copy of our family logo/sigil and we would like to perhaps see this incorporated into the designs that you do. On the other hand, this should not be the focus of the design that you are creating. As you can see from the "Inspirational websites" that I have referenced below, we are truly not looking for anything standard. Please feel free to take some risks and be playful. If it looks hum-drum boring, we aren't interested. In terms of colors, we like greens, blues, browns ... basically natural colors and earth tones. This website will potentially be used by multiple generations of our family. It would be nice to have a design that is visually appealing to different age groups.
Home Page: We would like a non-standard design (no sidebars, headers, footers, etc.) that does not use photographs. Instead, we are looking for an original drawing of a tree (hand-drawn preferably) that has the following links coming off of the branches, etc.: "Family History," "Family Members Only," "Sigil," and "Coat of Arms." Second Page: This is a sub page that will upload when someone clicks on "Family Members Only." I don't yet have any ideas as to what this page should look like, except that it should somehow match the theme of the Home Page. This page should somehow incorporate the following links: "Blog," "Individual Websites," "Calendar," "Admin," "Photos," and "Genealogy."
What to avoid
Avoid standard designs (with header, footer, sidebars, etc.) that employ standard themes. Also, no pictures please. We are looking for original designs.
I have attached copies of our family crest, and our family sigil (logo, if you will). I would like to see the sigil somehow incorporated into the design for each page, but I do not want to see it as the central theme of the design.
