Treverclark2 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Homepage Only for Joost Labs Bodybuilding Supplements
Check out Treverclark2's Web page design contest…
Bodybuilding supplements for hardcore bodybuilders. Specializing in prohormones and legal testosterone boosters.
As far as the layout of the site, I'd like to copy Amazon.com as much as possible. They're the industry leader in high conversions. For the overall look of the site, with colors and imagery, I really like http://anabolicminds.com/. Another site that I like is http://www.musculardevelopment.com/
Note: This is for an e-commerce site that will be built on Magento. This is my first contest on 99 Designs, but it's not my first time getting a site designed. I'll be providing plenty of feedback, and answering any questions promptly. The Homepage The main goal of this page is to get help people find the product that they're looking for and to drive conversions. The secondary goal is branding and establishing our value proposition. I want to convey that we are the most hardcore supplement company around, and that our supplements are just barely legal - that they're getting nearly the same benefits as illegal steroids while staying legal and avoiding the nasty side-effects of the illegal stuff. The main demographic is young "musclehead" bodybuilders aged 16-25, who have a lot of testosterone. They tend to respond well to harsh/hardcore colors, such as black, red, orange, and metallic colors. While I want those dark colors included, I want the site to retain a "clean" look, and employ dark text on a light background overall. I'm big into conversion optimization, and I know what works. Some items that I'd like to see included are: -Categories on the left -A graphic establishing our value proposition just to the right of the categories. -Below the categories and value prop. graphics, I want popular and featured products starting "above the fold" -A simple little logo and tagline in the header. Tagline is "Are you Joost?". Somewhere in the header, it should also prominently say what we do - "Hardcore Bodybuilding Supplements for Extreme Athletes" or something to that effect -Nav links for "Account", "Cart" "Display Products by Retailer" and "About" in the header. ALL OTHER navigation in the footer. -Below the featured and popular products, I want to display testimonials -In the header, there should be an 800 number and an email displayed for customer service/orders -I want a sidebar to the right. Should include a Facebook box, an email optin box, and a spot for monthly special offers (at the top of the sidebar). -Trust seals (Secure website, BBB etc.) in footer -"Free Shipping on all orders over $100" displayed prominently somewhere "above the fold"
Audience demographics: Young, male, "musclehead type", testosterone soaked bodybuilders between the ages of 16 and 25. They're into developing their physiques, but also into girls/getting laid, extreme sports (MMA/Drag Racing/Motorcycles/X-Games etc), and partying/hitting the clubs. Nearly all have at least a high school education. Some are currently in high school. Many are either in college, attended college for awhile, getting ready to go to college, or recently graduated from college.
