We help people rebuild after infidelity in marriage. Currently, the site is red and we want to get away from that. We want to convey hope, security, and strength. We'd also like for things to be easy to find on the front page.
simple and easy to navigate, comforting but not kitch
Accepted File Formats:
Standard Web Formats (.jpg, .gif or .png)
Our current website is http://www.affairrecovery.com. We particularly like the layout at familydynamics.org, but obviously we don't want to copy it. We like that they have the site organized by themes (see their right column) with pictures. Looking at our resources page may help understand what we have to offer.
Also, we'd like to use a design that keeps the content centered in the middle rather than expanding it in width depending on the users window size (as it does now, change your window width and you'll see what we mean).Â
Any graphics should inspire people to keep their marriage or reinforce show that we understand their pain. It's worth all this pain to rebuild their marriage. The website needs to convey a comforting atmosphere and evoke trust in us.
Our current slogan is "Where Healing Happens" and the title of the site, The Affair Recovery Center, should not be prominent as it's rather embarrassing. It should be in small letters or written as ARC or The ARC Online. Our logo is in the upper left of our website. The heart with ARC overlapping the lower left edge. The logo should not change.
Finally, remember that it has to be simple and easy to navigate. Our users are frequently extreme computer novices AND distressed or depressed. So we want to make it super easy on them.
The site wouldn't even have to change much, just please no more red and keep to about a 900 pixel width instead of the unlimited width we have now.
Our content management system uses Drupal if that is important.
ADDITIONAL 3/8/08: we're preparing a video for the front page. so please make a spot for that on your entries. you can see the video on this page: http://www.affairrecovery.com/can-survive. We'll be moving it to the front page in the next week (before the contest is over).
