Justin418 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Help ForgetWork.com with a new website design
Check out Justin418's Web page design contest…
I am starting a social media website that is a place for people to go to store their ideas for Film, TV, Books, Music, Art and Photography. Think of it as a Facebook for creative people.
If you Google "Best Looking Websites," you should get an idea. I pretty much like 9 out 10 of these type of websites you'll find in these lists. Specifically, http://www.pointlesscorp.com/ - I love the quirkiness of this website. This is sort of what I'm going for. http://kylesteed.com/ - Quirky yet neat, sort of artsy. http://www.readymadedesigns.co.uk/ - Colorful and friendly. Options clearly laid out.
The name of the website is ForgetWork.com. The reasoning for this title? Because instead of being at work, you should be working on that book you always wanted to write, or writing that script you always wanted to write. It should also make clear why it is called ForgetWork.com. It should be a very user friendly and welcoming page. Sleek, modern, fun, creative, cute, organic, friendly. Emphasis on the fun, creative and organic part. The layout should be very simple and easy to use. There should be a log-in that says something like "Get Started," for new users. For existing users there should be something that says "My Projects." There should also be something that says "My Friends' Projects." Also a "Search" button. Also on the bottom it should have all the normal stuff, Help, About, FAQ's, Terms and Conditions, Copyright- all rights reserved- all that good stuff. Most importantly, there should be something that says "How It Works." Also, a feed somewhere that says "Current Projects" or "Current Ideas," that will pull from people's latest projects they are working on and appear on the home page. The second page should be what it will look like when a user actually logs into their account. There should be tabs for My Movies, My TV, My Books, My Music, My Art, My Photography, My Business, My Life. Separately there should be something that says "Account Settings." Also a tip button which says something like "Tips for Getting Creative." Use a placeholder for the logo if you aren't going to design one. Both of these pages should be able to be sent to programmers and coders so that it can be turned into a working website.
My main demographics are creative people who don't necessarily have an outlet. College students, college graduates, college graduates stuck in shitty jobs. Song writers. Struggling artists. Script writers. Also high school students. But also welcoming for literally anyone with an idea about something. People who have a love of creativity and being creative. Anyone stuck in jobs they don't like. But also for people who are actually already in the entertainment industry as well. Ages approx 14- 45. (I know that's kind of broad.) I want this to appeal to creative people but at the same time appeal to everyone who believes they are the next Steven Spielberg but perhaps aren't. The point isn't necessarily to actually have talent in all of these areas, but just to believe you do and get your ideas out there. Gender is everyone. Please include Facebook, Twitter and YouTube buttons. Lastly, thank you and I appreciate whatever you come up with and look forward to communicating with whoever submits something.
