What Should I Wear?
We are a husband and wife team, experienced in internet business. Over the past 5 years we've started several successful online ventures. We have some knowledge and experience with website designs/usability and technology. However we don't have any design skills - so we'd love your clever, stylish input!
We plan to launch a brand new site in the fashion / style industry. It is called "What Should I Wear?" and will be Australia's #1 Style Advice Site. Inspired by similar US sites like http://www.gotryiton.com (simliar concept, but we'd like a different design and features tailored to our market in Australia).
The target market is Australian, mostly female, 16-30 years old, fashion conscious, internet-savvy, educated, reasonably affluent. The focus of the target market is 22 years old, university student, reading Vogue and Harpers Bazaar magazines (Australian versions). She shops at stores like Witchery/Mimco, Country Road, asos. She loves fashion and wants to visit a fashion site that looks uber cool. She is very web savvy and wants the user experience to be clear and simple.
We need two pages updated with a new 'look and feel'.
This is a brand new start up.
We have had the website wire-framed using a basic 'look and feel'. See attachment of the old homepage and 'style me' page.
Feedback from the market has told us that this 'look and feel' is too much like a women's breast cancer support site! We want a much younger, more fashion-savvy, cool look.
You can use stock images, if appropriate.
Please provide PSD files at completion.
Page 1. Homepage
LAYOUT - We like the overall layout of the old homepage, but can you remove the testimonials and display ads in the right column? We want the homepage to be uncluttered. Can the main actions/text remain 'above the fold'.
'LOOK & FEEL' - needs to be updated. Overall look & feel of the site should be simple, super stylish, clean lines, contemporary (black/white color scheme?? Open to ideas).
HERO SHOT - Please include a hero shot of a very stylish girl/s aged in her young 20s. Must have an Australian appearance. Happy to use stock images if there are good ones available.
SMALL PHOTOS of users asking for advice - the pics on the old homepage are temporary, borrowed from The Sartorialist. Could you change this so 2/4 outfits shown are laid flat (not on a person) - as some users will use a 'flat lay' to get feedback. Could you keep 2/4 as a pics of girls in their outfits?
FIELDS / BUTTONS functions - all the same functions as the old homepage, but a more modern look.
Page 2: Style Me Page
LAYOUT - We are happy with this overall layout. Please keep the the right column (testimonials and ads etc).
LOOK & FEEL - to be updated to match the new homepage.
FIELDS/BUTTONS to remain the same, just updated look.
PHOTO samples - can these be updated to be more of the target market (22 yr old aussie woman OR a 'flat lay' of a few items)
This is a brand new start up.

See the old home page and 'style me' page attached.
We like the modern black and white, clean, simple look of fashion sites. Definitely don't want it to be too pink/rainbow coloured!
The ‘look and feel’ of sites we like are:
• http://www.witchery.com.au/witchery…/i4142050/ -- really love love love this hero shot!
• http://www.thesartorialist.com - love the clean simple lines of this blog
• http://www.net-a-porter.com/?cm_mmc…bbcid=2625 – like the clean navigation on the top and a modern photo (but not this one particularly!!)
