Overview

Our website needs a design overhaul. We have a static site that we would like to bring into web 2.0 world. Navigation structure will be changed to reflect the new navigation structure below.. We are launching a new service offering with a new partner and we need to merge brands. We also need to make our company’s co-founder have an internet presence on our website with the “Feature Section” (reference notes in design preferences in how to do this- or feel free to add any other creative ways!)

We are in the business of creating leaders (whether academic or corporate) Core to our product offerings is the concept of interdependence (of people, resources and relationships), and the “Trim Tab Factor”. This term was coined by our original founder Buckminster Fuller and we would like to use this in our brand. It is a great challenge to visually communicate that people are Trim Tabs. We don’t need to use this word per se, but the concept that humans should look at the smallest change they can make for the biggest results. Leaders have the opportunity to affect change. We offer a toolbox to develop leaders. Exact explanation of "Trim Tab" can be found on Wikipedia.

Don't want imagery of Airplanes or Ship. The concept is to create maximum impact with the least amount of resources- in personal and professional life.

We are looking for the most creative minds to share in our vision.

Website needs to be inviting and easy to use for both Corporate & Academic audiences. Needs to be Cutting Edge but Professional.

Requirements

Simple lines, so that message is clear: Leaders or Insight by Design.
We would like to maintain our blue/white color scheme - though variations on it widely welcomed.
 The new Product we need to integrate with current brand is called “dMass” and has style sheet: sabon for the italic d and univers 65 for MASS. I will include both osearth logo and dmass logos.Home page should include one section that is a “feature” section. Need not include the words “feature”, but concept but be communicated. (want to plug in a recent video interview, a new product/service announcement, link to new blog post, new research thread. - Example: on Ideo website in lower left corner there is an “IDEA” profiled:http://www.ideo.com/ A second good example of a feature section is with the website: “Interface Global” with “Featured Stories” section. Like Interface we need to make the co-founder of our company & chairman have a presence on our website. He is about to come out with a book (dMASS) and he is an expert in his field. (dMass is the mass of material resources that can be eliminated through better design and problem solving. In short, dMass is reduced mass through design.)

Would like subtle differentiation in colors to identify different Audiences / Programs (Example: Outward Bound- uses different colors to categorize different age group programs: http://www.outwardbound.org/)
