I am an independent consultant offering information security/network security professional services and consulting. This is a new business. I plan to generate some clients by doing commercial writing/blogging and through industry networking. I will have a few core service offerings but may introduce new services in the future. I used 99designs to do my logo design a month or so ago. I will attempt to post my logos and business card print.
http://www.thirdculturestudios.com/ - i like the use of the left scroll bar and single page on the right that moves http://www.herr-leder.de/ - i like this font, the large 'splash' page of his logo to start out with (which i'd like to incorporate in mine with my logo), and the contact form http://www.theartsourceinc.com/ - i like the font and feel the page is very professional. i like the general structure of the site. i could use their concept of 'our brands' to display my partners. I could use their concept of 'a history of excellence' or 'we embrace' to show my service offerings http://www.djxeeder.com/ - i like the simplicity of the page and also like the bars on the left. my logo incorporates a rising bar chart (modeled to look like a building), so using the bars in a creative way would be cool as well - perhaps having red bars be bars with my 'table of contents' in it that move out as you mouse over Google sites does have some limitations - I could potentially use a different web hosting provider if that is necessary. Any suggestions on hosting providers, using wordpress, etc is appreciated.
THIS SITE WILL NEED TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH GOOGLE SITES as they are doing my domain hosting I want a one page design that features my logo, perhaps a head shot of myself. It will have sections of the page that should include: a) contact info or a contact form b) a list of services offered - but the design should have a sample concept of how to put the services into sections. meaning - i will list say 6 services on my service page and have some text to explain each service c) a link to my blog d) a list of partners e) an 'about me' section As my list of content, services or partners will grow over time, it should be easy to add new sections to the sites (meaning - i should be able to do it myself - I am technical and know HTML, I just am not very creative myself). I can extend the basic concept of a site as needed. The site needs to be for a professional firm - as my clients would be Fortune X clients and I need to have that professional appearance. The links below are good reference examples.
I use a MAC and don't have photoshop. I use GIMP on my MAC. So, a file format that is compatible with GIMP would be good.
