Hoverstream is going to be a dealer for this company in the UK. http://www.flyingfishhovercraft.co.uk
I would suggest reviewing their website and familiarizing yourself with their product before reading further. Most of the information they have here will need to be on the Hoverstream page, but I want something much cleaner and more effective.
Hovercraft are exciting. Everyone who sees one gets a smile on their face and has a hundred questions. However, very few people familiar with them and therefore have a tendency to get scared off from buying one due to our innate fear of the unknown. I need a site that conveys both the fun and excitement of hovercraft while also convincing the viewer that they can indeed own one (it's not complicated or scary!), be comfortable with it, have a lot of fun, and have more versatility than a boat or PWC all while being friendly to the environment.
Although there will be many pages in the final site, there are 3 primary pages that all others will be based around.
1. Front landing page
This is the first thing the customer sees. Although I very much dislike traditional “click to enter” pages or goofy flash animations, I do want the primary “home” page to be clean and simple. This page can still have the navigational elements on it, but the focus should be the main graphic. I’d like to see a large photo of the product. This can be static or a rotating photo that changes every few seconds. There are four concepts this photo needs to convey:
b. Easy to own
c. Versatile use (land, ice, water)
d. Environmentally friendly
Each of these four items should have some pop out, mouse-over text that briefly explains each item.
2. Craft detail page
This page contains all the details about our two primary products; the Marlin and the Coastal Pro hovercraft models. I’m not set on what this should look like. But an idea I had was a close-up image of the hovercraft with some mouse-over image map that highlights various parts of the craft and explains those features. For example, you hover over the engine, it highlights that area and tells you some detail about type, horsepower, function, etc.
Under this can be a traditional description and listing of product specifications. There will also be some add-on product options listed such as upgraded gauges, lighting, deluxe padded seats, etc.
The selling price should be very prominent on this page as it will be competitive. For now, just use $17,999 or $399 per month. These figures are not finalized and will obviously vary by model.
3. FAQ or general educational page
This one is tricky and I’m not sure how to accomplish it. There is a wealth of FAQ information that goes along with hovercraft and I need an effective way of presenting this info without blasting the reader with a wall of text.
This page has a wealth of information both on the page and in the PDF linked on that page. However, it is not presented well and it just a huge mass of text.
