HarmonKaslow needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 9 designs submitted by 4 freelance designers.
I am an entrepreneur with a great concept for a revolutionary homepage for "busy" people.
Initially, this webpage will be available to entertainment (motion picture industry) executives ... by invitation only ... delivering to them "community" (in this case the common interest is the entertainment industry) specific content (including industry specific search) in a predictable and dynamic way.
The users will have a low level of tech savvy ... so the site must be user friendly.
I want a "clean" easy to read "home page" that has a "smart" and intuitive layout to provide information.
Since the content on the page will be updated regularly, the design must lend itself to modular programming.

My initial concept is something like the following ... but I am open for a more creative / sensible design ...
The page should have 4 columns ...
The top of the page should be divided into 2 columns with one column for "Tweets" and the second column (with 2 rows) for streaming info ... column one, for example, would have tracking info including Box Office results, local sports scores, stock prices ... and the 2nd row would have "headlines" or breaking news.
The remainder of the page would have 4 columns ... from left to right as follows:
1. An archive split into Day ... followed by (e.g. under Day) - Week ... followed by Month ...
2 - 3 - 4 ... columns 2 and 4 should be smaller (less wide) than 3 ... and would feature a form of "content" ... e.g. Column 2 might be titled "Business News" ... Column 3 might be titled "Industry News" ... and Column 4 might be titled "Financial News".
Column 4 will have a small box above it ... titled "Black Hole" for a search function ...
