Check out ses5909's Web page design contest…
Looking for a modern and fresh layout, you have a lot of flexibility in this contest!
What's your vision?
Tagline: Hunting Daily Desired Color Scheme: Your choice! Desired Style: We want a modern layout, we don't want a corporate or stiff look.More Web 2.0. When desigining, please keep SEO in mind. Accepted File Formats: Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff) Site Name: GeekHunting.com Summary - Geek Hunting - Job listing site for all things web geek! We love the web and we want to help employers and other web geeks find each other. We aren't looking for a logo but instead feel free to represent the site name using just a complimentary font. The text for the site name can be as "Geek Hunting" or GeekHunting.com, your choice. We haven't decided on branding yet. Style - We want a modern layout, we don't want a corporate or stiff look.More Web 2.0. When desigining, please keep SEO in mind. We want to use as few images as possible and only where necessary. The navigation will need to be all text-based for example. We will code the design to be completely accessible so if your design does not lend to that or makes it very difficult to achieve, it may not be considered as much as others. Colors - We are open to various color combinations here. You are the artists, please use your vision. Navigation - There will be two levels of navigation: The job category navigation which we would like probably at the very top.For now there will be: All, PHP, ASP.Net, Java, Design, Content. The 2nd level of navigation might be best put in a sidebar. There will be a login box is the user is not logged in with options to create a new account, request password. Below that small section will be navigational links that will have things like: Home, Articles, Advertising, etc. this bottom section will be dynamic so don't make it too hard to style. Layout - The design needs to work on an 800x600 resolution but ultimately we will probably make the design fluid to 80% of the screen. As mentioned before, the job category navigation needs to go in the header (perhaps at the top) and the login and secondary navigation should go in the sidebar. These two sections can be designed as one or you can style it so they stand apart from each other. The rest of the layout is up to you. Towards the top we would also like something that grabs the attention like : List a Job Now! and Find a job now! maybe just on a colored background. Content - We need a spot for a mission statement or to tell what the site is about (not too big), a spot to list the latest site news (title and/or excerpts), a spot to list the latest job listings to include (title, category, location, date), rss links to subscribe to different categories, latest article listings (title and/or excerpts). The rest of the space is for you to play with. Please do not PM me with questions or potential entries. I will only communicate about the contest in this contest as I think that is the only way it is fair for everyone. Also, please do not ask for feedback within hours of posting your entry. I will make sure I leave feedback at least once a day. If I skip over yours it is because I am still thinking about it. I have always given feedback in all of my contests and this will be no different. Thanks in advance for all of your hard work; I look forward to your entries! Â I reserve the right to end the contest early if I absolutely love a design! Â Edit: The secondary navigation doesn't have to be in the sidebar as I mentioned above. We may not even have to include it on the home page. I am looking for a home page design only which will be slightly different than the inner pages which could make use of that sidebar. Â
