Drobinson1 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
ARCFI needs a new website
Check out Drobinson1's Web page design contest…
ARCFI is a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services approved EB-5 Designated Regional Center. Essentially, ARCFI aggregates direct foreign investment into projects that are going to create jobs in our home geography of North and South Carolina. We select, evaluate, market, invest in and oversee large scale projects across a number of different industries. We work closely with economic development officials, government agencies, financial institutions, immigration attorneys and business owners. As such, our website needs to convey information in a clear and concise manner to these various constituencies. The site should be clean, simple and functional while conveying a sense of professionalism, integrity and subject matter expertise. We want a user-friendly site that is easily navigable. It may also be important to note that this site will be translated into at least six other languages.
www.civitascapital.com – clean, crisp design; concise text; strategic partner buttons at the top; really nice site overall www.ny-eb5.com – like the darker background (don’t want black, just something to provide a bit of contrast); use of flash (though a little big); incorporation of recent news on the homepage would be nice www.gulfcoastfunds.com – really like the embedded pdf of their approval letter www.warburgpincus.com – good use of flash; use of background color is closer to what we would like www.prologis.com/private-capital – what we like here is the presence of additional sub-links on the left; inclusion of a similar vertical bar like this would give us flexibility in site content without having to alter the homepage
We’re going to end up with a 7+ page site, but really only need three basic pages designed: the Homepage; a basic content page that will essentially be replicated (an EB-5 Program page, the Immigration Process page, About Us page, etc.); and a more robust page for Projects (both current and past). Our homepage should be visually simple and communicate a brief overview of the EB-5 Program and ARCFI’s place within the Program, as well as our business philosophy. There should be a tastefully sized, horizontal scrolling flash banner toward the top of the homepage that will feature photos of current and past projects, stock photography used to convey brand attributes, and links to important updates or news related items. Above the flash banner will be the ARCFI logo. Also at the top will be links to the additional pages: EB-5 Program; Immigration Process; Our Region; Projects; About Us; and Contact Us. The homepage should all fit ‘above the fold’. The following are descriptions of the five pages that will be based on the basic content design. This design should be simple and straightforward while clearly derived from the Homepage. The "EB-5 Program" page will be the most robust page on the site in terms of text. This page will offer an overview of the Program, detailed information about the Regional Center Designation and its role in the EB-5 Program, information regarding general investor eligibility, etc. The "Immigration Process" page will include a detailed flow chart explaining the immigration and investment process through ARCFI and the EB-5 Visa Program. In addition to the flowchart, there will be 1-2 paragraphs of text that provide additional information to the viewer. The "Our Region" page will provide an overview of the territory that ARCFI serves. This will include a detailed map, as well as information on regional economics, industries, educational institutions, etc. The "About Us" page will provide a 4-6 paragraph discussion of ARCFI, our business model, our relationships/strategic partnerships, and our targeted industries. Additionally, this page will provide brief bios of our management team. The "Contact Us" page will provide all of ARCFI’s contact information and a link to our investor questionnaire. The "Projects" page will be divided into two sections – but on the same page: “Current Projects” at the top and “Past Projects” below. Each project will be titled and have a photo or rendering at the left. Each project will have a brief one paragraph description with basic deal points (similar to http://www.gcfid.com/current-projects but more horizontally oriented). Each project title and photo will link to a more thorough description of the project.
The flow chart is attached as a reference tool - providing both a bit more insight into our business model and an example of one simple piece of marketing collateral we've had executed. Feel free to either disregard entirely or incorporate into your design. 7-19-2011 Update: Added Logo Orbs for possible use as background/shadow effect. Sorry not included before.
