Hey you artist,
I do like to introduce myself before we start working together. I am Mitchell Spier, 23 years old and in the prime of my life. I am writing you because I do like to have a tattoo.
Purely because I think it is art, it shows who I am, what I like and to what I care. Besides that, it simply looks cool/tough. Because I suck at drawning and designing, I hope you can and ofcourse, want to help me. Obviously, your design won't be another picture on the wall, it will be a state of the art, put at my body. So let's get to it.
What am I searching for?
Let's begin with what kind of tattoo I want. There are two possibilities:
I am searching for a design that fills up my back. Yes, it will completely fill up my back. Remember those Japanies tattoo's? The coloured ones? I think they are amazing. I don't say that I want that aswell, but I am stunned when i see one. Black/white or Coloured? I havent figured that out yet.
I am searching for a design that fills up my Shoulder blades to lets say, the middle of my back. Most important here, and from what I have in mind, is that its foundation has to be symmetrical at the shoulder blades. Also here: Black/White or Coloured is still open.
Idea so far
I do like to have a tattoo that fits me as a person. I have had an idea for a long time now to replicate purely the wings of an eagle (viewed from the back) , with under the eagles, his claws holding a pocketwatch. NOTE: just the wings and the claws, not the body nor head of the eagle. The story behind this thought is that an eagles means freedom, power and it is an animal that naturally keeps an overview of its environment. That is something that typifies me. I always have to know what is happening and keep a close eye on things. In addition to that; I am a person that is really eager to learn. I love facts. They call me Mr Wikipedia at work, just to give you an example. I google everything. In addition to that i am a little bit stubborn and enthousiastic.
The pocketwatch stands for me being punctual. I am a man that keeps his word and I like to be on time. Besides that, in my opinion, the whole world is about time. And I simply like watches.
An eagle is proud. I do like to carry that proud. Somewhere in the design, and it doesnt have to be that big, is where I like to see my family name: SPIER (translated in English it means MUSCLE). I have a really small family. Both my parents are singles, so therefore I have no uncles/aunts/nephews etc. Both grandparents are dead aswell. So it just me, together with my father, 2 brothers and sister that carry along our family name.
In addition to the above, is my second oldest brother (NOTE: I dont have any clue so far how to symbolize this but maybe you know. I didnt come further than a celtic symbol) My brother Laurens and I have a strong connection, a good bond. He is 3 years older, 26. We are brothers but also best friends. We trust and stand up for each other. We live together, have the same friends and just basically do everything together. From holiday, travelling, festifals, you know what I mean.
Component IV :
My brother Laurens Spier is 26 year old. He has it owns company where he creates bronze sculptures. He followed my dad footsteps, as he also has its own company: a bronze foundry. State of the art craftmanship. He also wants a tattoo on his back.
This is where it gets interesting for you. If we can create a good tattoo, you can create another one for my brother aswell.
Component number 4 will be all about connection. A connection between two loving brothers. For example: the one carries the lock, the other key. It has to be something that the other ones carries what the other one does not have. It has to complement. This can be in any style or combination. Open for suggenstions.
So far my components for the tattoo design. I hope you have enough inspiration. For more information feel free to contact me.
Important to know / Condititions:
* I like to have a basic. This will start with the wings. It would be the best if those could be symetrical, from shoulder to shoulderblade.
* The whole design has to merge. It has to flow. Not random pictures just near eachother, it has to be a story.
* The components as stated above are the foundation. If the tattoo would completely fill my back, filling would be needed. I would appreciate any suggestions. I do like the Maori / Japanese style. Or Celtic. Suggestions are welcome!
* I do not want the tattoo to be visible in my neck or arms
* A tattoo for my whole back is a big step. It is not nothing. Therefore, if you have any ideas/designs that are smaller, but still shoulderblade to - mid back, large, feel free to inform me.
