How Brentwong1 started their t-shirt journey

Company name

SHINE THE LIGHT MINISTRIES

Overview

we are a group of dentists, doctors, medical people, construction workers, teachers...just a bunch of ordinary folk that are trying to make a difference. i personally have led over 24 trips around the world in the past 7 years. we provide free medical, dental, and construction aid to different places around the world.

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach

we just are looking for team t-shirts. the past 2 times, i've made shirts myself, but i'm looking for a better look. i kinda like the idea of different shirts for each trip, but if i find a design i absolutely fall in love with, then i'd use it each time we go (~3X/year)

Requirements

we are a not-for-profit. so, shirts are not a big ticket item. therefore, the design we've used in the past has been just the front of the shirt in a single screened color (just to keep costs down) on a single coloured shirt.

here's a common thread i've used in the past. i've put a vector drawing of a starfish somewhere in the design because of the following story: a man and his son were walking the beach after an intense storm and they both came upon thousands of starfish that were washed up on shore from the storm. the boy asked his dad, "what's going to happen to all of these starfish?" his dad answered, "well son, they are all going to die." his son was so moved with compassion that he handpicked one and through it back into the ocean. then found another and did the same thing. his dad chuckled and said, "son, what are you doing? there are thousands and thousands of starfish here. you'll never even make a dent. you'll never make a difference!" his son picked up another starfish and looked up at his dad and said, "i'll make a difference to THIS ONE." and threw it back in the ocean.

as an organization, we may not have the solution for world peace, or solving world hunger...but with the love that we show to one 'family' of starfish, we can make a difference in their lives...one starfish at a time.

it's a great reminder of why we do what we do!

IT ALSO MUST FIT INTO AN AREA 12" WIDE BY 14" HIGH.

THANKS!
