I’m just starting my own business in Canberra, Australia and I’m in need of a logo and business card. My business is visiting clients' homes or businesses to provide computer training, advice, set-up or repair.
Typical work would be setting up a wireless network, removing viruses from a computer, fixing a computer problem or training someone on Microsoft Excel.
Being female is unusual among on-site technicians so I want my business to use this feature to stand out.
The image I want to portray is female (so probably red or pink), warm, friendly, nice but with professional, quality, reliable service.
Ideally the business card would also have one or more of my Microsoft certification logos (probably on the reverse side)
All customers are welcome, but I’d probably be targeting women business owners and women home users who would prefer to be taught by (or have their computer fixed by) a woman - maybe because they are nervous of a strange male coming into their home or small business.
Older computer users are also a target market as they may feel that a female would be more patient, honest and fair with them.
The logo will use the word Geekette - possibly just the word with nice formatting or maybe including some graphic (if you want to draw me somehow, I have a pony tail, no glasses and I'm most likely to wear jeans and a polo shirt - no skirts, high heels or make-up, please - I am a geek after all!)
The business card needs the following information:
Geekette - Computer training, advice, setup and repair
On the reverse of the card:
Training in: Excel, Access, Outlook, Photoshop and more
Fix your PC
Set up your wireless network
Remove a virus
Also on the card, one or more microsoft logos. Microsoft are very touchy about their logos as follows:
Microsoft Logos can appear in two colors or in black-and-white.
Color Pantone Match 4-Color Process RGB Hex
Green PMS 357 C89 + M0 +Y100 + K39 R0 + G88 + B37 #005825
Blue PMS 279 C70% + M30% R0 + G153 + B255 #0099FF
Microsoft Logo may not be combined with any other object, including, but not limited to, other logos, icons, words and graphics.
A minimum amount of space must be left between the Logo and any other object such as type, other logos, borders or edges. The required border of space around the logo must be "x" wide, where "x" equals the height of the word “Microsoft” in the Logo.
The minimum acceptable size for the Microsoft Logo is 1 inch (2.54 cm) long in print
