Who are you known as?
Smoke & Mirrors
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
smokeandmirrors.store, We will provide a web store for CO2 laser cutter spare parts such as the CO2 laser tube, the lenses, mirrors and other sundry items used on cheap laser cutters. We'll also be providing lots of online resources for people who want to learn more about laser cutters. Both professional, hobbyist and just curious. Our market is the 1st UK, 2nd R of Ireland and the 3rd the EU. The target audience is those who would use laser cutters if they were a more accessible technology I don't care about fat balding middle-aged men nerds, which most laser cutter websites look like they've been designed by.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Art & Design
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
Should ideally be no more than 2 colours or lend itself to any colour. I'm especially keen on a design that works physically in the real world for CNC cutting equipment, no shading or colour wash/fade or stippling etc.
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
I like this design but it's too busy around the back end of the bird.
simple shape works in the real world for CNC cutting. You could cut this out of wood.
Love the simplicity here.
Yes, that we are a friendly site for EVERYONE, where we try to demystify the "smoke & mirrors" around laser cutter technology and provide the "missing" support needed for those buying cheap laser cutters from China/eBay etc. I don't want my logos etc to look like our competitors.
Below I've loaded a number of logos. I like the use of negative space (note that's not the apple logo exactly) and subtleties like in the imaginary friend, the girl is weighted down by nothing or in the Hat Trick logo the rabbit pulls the magician out of the hat. I like things to have layers deeper than the image. I like the way the Hillary H logo can be adapted to layers and other things as a photo overlay.
The image needs to be suitable for laser cutting or CNC work. You need to be able to make it physically, so no graduated colour or shadow. Any designs like that won't work for me.
