For this design, the book was based on the premise that Jesus was the first vampire, and the followers were a group called "the Afterliving".

I wanted to mix classic Christian imagery with a supernatural twist to fit the theme of the book. I started with the idea of the followers of Christ gathering around his cross. I arranged the silhouettes so that the negative space image of vampire fangs, with drops of blood.

The result is a design that, at first glance, looks traditionally Christian but with an ominous feel, and as the viewer looks closer, they notice the fangs and supernatural imagery.
