The Northern Dumpling Company
Hot Chili Bean Sauce (辣豆辦醬)
Description of the product
Product is a super premium miso-based hot sauce packed in 17L pails (33LB pails) that is strictly a restaurant pack (not retail). Product is made in small batches by our saucemaster. Chefs will often use our hot sauce as a base for their own hot sauces or as an ingredient in their spicy Asian cuisine.
Description of the product target audience
Restaurant chefs use this product both as an ingredient in their Asian cuisine and also as a tabletop condiment. This product pack is STRICTLY business to business so no retail consumers will see it. Restaurant customers include high end super premium Western restaurants all the way to casual fast food Chinese restaurants.
We need a design for a 33LB pail (see attached C45 template for dimensions). This pail should have the following elements. The order they show up in can be up to the designer but generally name should be first. Front of Pail - Name of product (English): Hot Chili Bean Sauce - Name of product (Chinese): 辣豆辦醬 - Quantity of product: 15Kg (33.07Lb) - Made in Ontario, Canada - Company Name and logo (see attached for variations of our logo). (THIS CAN BE FRONT OR BACK OF PAIL) Back of Pail - Manufactured by Jing Peking Foods Canada Inc. 63 Silver Star Boulevard, Unit A1-A2 Scarborough, ON M1V 5E5 email@example.com Notes on design: - We are open to a wide variety of designs but have attached some bottles that we like as a guide. These are just initial thoughts from us and we encourage and will reward attention to designs that are different. - Font can be different from our brand guide font but should be complementary if you choose a different font - Company logo can be on the front OR the back of the panel. For example, if you find that our company logo does not "match" your packaging design, we can relocate the company logo to the "back" of the pail near the manufacturers address. - Remember you are designing a pail! See image files for current product. IMPORTANT: In our old logo (in files labeled old logo.jpg) you will see on the LEFT hand side, two characters above one another, written in traditional Chinese caligraphy. Those characters are: 真味. These two words mean "real flavour" and its what many of our foodservice customers have come to associate with our packaging. They often ask for the "real flavour" hot sauce. It is VERY important that these two words be integrated prominently into the new design. Designs that keep or elaborate on the traditional calligraphy in the old logo.jpg will be given special attention and come out ahead in this contest. I have also attached a scan of our current labels so you can see and emulate the calligraphy of ALL our Chinese characters (including our name: 辣豆辦醬 and the "Real Flavour" characters 真味). - Use of Chinese calligraphy design will be highly rewarded!
What to avoid
We are using a 4 colour printing process so there should be a maximum of 4 colours in the design.
