Book of Wine
Description of the product
Strategy - BOOK OF WINE, The idea is to have 'Book of Wine' series as a parent brand name and have similar projects for few other wine appellations. Almost like the book series 'For Dummies', which was and is quite popular. This particular project will be for Bordeaux Red Wine. Bordeaux Red Wine label should be as short encyclopedia, written up on the back label of the bottle, main features of Bordeaux region, specifications, all main things someone would need to know and get educated. Idea is to help people understand and appreciate more this great region of wine. We are not developing another label with picture of chateau, some kind of animal picture or call it complicated name, but we are actually helping consumer to understand the region better with lots of simple and key information about the region written on the bottle. The idea is, that after reading text on back label of bottle, consumer is educated enough to talk about the region confidently. This information should give him (her) confidence and knowledge to comfortably speak about main things on the region, order bottle of Bordeaux in restaurant or pick one at the store, impress friends or family.
Description of the product target audience
Target Consumer: 90% of USA population, they have no idea about the region on any other specifics on Bordeaux region.
There should be ONE large label that almost completely wraps around cylindrical bottle, label should be about 160 mm height, basically covering entire flat surface of cylindrical typical Bordeaux style bottle. FRONT LOOK - "Book of Wine", this should be main brand name. Under which we will select varietals/regions, so for this Bordeaux label it should read Book of Wine, then under it Bordeaux (possibly in red font, hint that's a red wine) and vintage under it, say 2016 for now. We also need to include alc by vol %, say 13 for now and grape names: Cabernet 60% Merlot 40% for now somewhere on front look. I would like you to play with word "Book", maybe you can make a visual statement (logo) of actual book. But has to be very serious, bold, not cartoonish. Maybe we just need to select attractive font for brand name and that's all, hard to say without example. Label should be white, with "Book" in big standing out letters in black. "of Wine" can be under it. But please try to play with "Book of Wine" in one line as well. As always, any label we create I want shopper to see it from a mile away, so it needs to stand out. We can play with color of capsule, where it could be sharp red color to match Bordeaux word which is also in red. White, black and red is great color combination to stand out from shelf. Overall design has to appeal to everyone, so don't go crazy with millennial trends, although please make sure millennials should find it very appealing as well. Design should not be overly contemporary or overly classic, somewhere in the middle, again, we are trying to reach wide demographic, so it has to be visually appealing to most if not all. We also have to find middle ground where it would be liked by all genders. BACK LOOK - that's where the short and simple encyclopedia about the region would be written. Will provide the informational text/images for you to create layout on the back side of the bottle. We also need to fit in the back, bar code, government warning, producer and importer info.
160 mm height x 229 mm width, this could possible get adjusted during the process slightly
