Student Activities Council
The Student Activities Council is the representative institution of the student body at Dalton State College. We are the voice of our student population by creating and maintaining policies that are beneficial to our students and our campus. Our job is to insure our college promotes an environment conducive to the pursuit of academic excellence and of ensuring a dialogue between faculty and students through democratic processes by representing the various student organizations on our campus.
Dalton State College, commonly referred to as Dalton State, is one of the thirty-five institutions in the University System of Georgia. The college is located in Dalton, Georgia. The college was founded as Dalton Junior College in 1963 and began offering classes in 1967. The main campus consists of 146 acres, that were donated by four local landowners as a gift to the college, nestled in the foothills of the north Georgia mountains adjacent to interstate I-75 in Whitfield County, Georgia. Our mascot is the Roadrunners.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The student body of a public 4-year college.
A seal that is symbolic of the different aspects of a student government (ex: law, governance, democracy, representation, ect.). Our school mascot is the Roadrunners and we do not want anything that looks remotely similar to the Warner Brother’s roadrunner cartoon character. Our school colors are navy blue (PMS 539), silver/ gray (Cool Gray #10) and white. The seal should be contained in some kind of circle, chevron or ect., not just a free floating image.
