City of Hope
City of Hope (http://www.cityofhope.org) is an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
One of City of Hope’s long-standing fundraising events is the Nashville Celebrity Softball Challenge (http://www.cityofhope.org/softball). Celebrating its 20th year and hailed as the unofficial kickoff to the CMA Music Festival, this high-profile game features country stars, athletes and celebrities taking the field to represent team sponsors Grand Ole Opry Live and After MidNite with Blair Garner. Over the last 20 years, Carrie Underwood, Vince Gill, Clint Black and many others have stepped up to the plate to help find a cure. We expect top tier talent again this year.
We are launching a poster design contest to commemorate 20 years of commitment from country stars, fans and the Nashville community for supporting City of Hope.
PRIZE: $300 Cash, plus original artwork will be autographed by Softball talent and returned to the winner.
Target audience for this is country music fans – mostly female - (18-35 years), and families who live in the following key markets: Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY and Houston, TX. Some travel much further and many will plan to attend the CMA Music Festival later in the week.
Artwork should convey a sense of history, as this is a long-standing event – really a Nashville tradition among the CMA Festival activities. Most of the attendees at the game come for the talent on the field – but striking out cancer is the overarching theme to the event and the fundraising objective.
This is a fun, family event and, because of the game and stadium atmosphere, it is casual and allows fans an opportunity to get autographs and mingle with many of the players.
The piece will serve as the event’s commemorative poster and appear on the program cover.
For more information about the game and the CMA Music Festival visit:

The final artwork must be attractive and compel event attendees to purchase it with all their other purchases commemorating the game.
