What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Hello! We're finally getting around to updating a design we last looked at in 1924. We - a group of Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers, Dispatchers, and Aircraft Operators - use a Briefing Sheet to tell us about essential changes at airports and in different airspaces. Our current format sucks. It's called a NOTAM, and if you google that, you'll see just how bad it is - teleprinter text, upper case, full of jargon and codes, and as one pilot puts it, "user-hostile". So - make us a better Briefing format. Make it colorful, user-friendly, with an awesome UX, so that a 10-year-old can understand it. Most of all, use your design genius, smarts, and creativity to make this an incredibly useful and attractive briefing. We want new ideas!
Background: 1. The Briefing will be used to show all information between two airports on a route. The order of information will be: Departure Country and Airports, enroute Countries and Airports, then Arrival Country and Airports. The actual departure airport should be the very first item, and the arrival airport the very last. 2. There are 18 categories of information (like Runways, Fuel, Parking), shown on the attached PDF, with a different color for each. Consider using an icon for each one, each time you list that information, but definitely use the associated color in the design 3. Your mission is to create a TWO PAGE PDF titled "Notam Briefing", Letter format, Portrait, for a sample flight called EIN375, from Cairo to Helsinki. There are 20 sample pieces of information which you should include in the Briefing. Specifics: 1. Use plenty of color, icons, nice clear fonts. 2. FRONT Page will have the title, and timeline - a graphical depiction of the progress of the flight, showing a visual summary of the information that follows (drawing provided in attached PDF), and the beginning of the information. 3. SECOND Page (which forms the template for all further pages) continues the information. Details: 1. Pilots use two codes for Airports and Airspace - ICAO codes, like HECA for Cairo, and IATA codes, like CAI for Cairo. The ICAO code is used much more, give preference to that. 2. The information is used before flight, so that they are aware of the changes and risks on their route. 3. The existing system uses a terrible text based format, so we want to convey the same information but in a very user friendly way. Attachments (in 1 PDF): 1. The 18 Categories 2. A very simple sketch of what Page 1 and 2 should contain in terms of information - but YOU decide how it looks! 3. The 20 pieces of information for this sample flight
