TIES is one of the finest sources for gift supplies specialised in gift wrapping materials and services + designing giftable products. We offer high-quality gift-related products and services for events and occasions that affect people's lives.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are looking for a package designer for a product. We want to build a character for the product through a strong identity & visual impression. A talented expert in packaging with a wide knowledge of graphic design is what we search for. We require a comprehensive package design which includes every aspect from designing the overall theme & choosing a nice colour & materials combination to advising on the factory specifications to mass produce the package design.
The product which we want to have its package designed is fragile. It is basically a mixed-use glass jar with a long metal cap. We want the package to be safe and suitable for the product and to protect it from scratching and breaking. Our jar product is used for home interior and has 5 different purposes. It can be used as:
1- A vase
2- An oil/ scented wood burner ( the burner's base is not included with the product )
3- A candle holder
4- An electric lantern ( the bulb and any other electric equipment is not included with the product )
5- Goody jar for sweets and others
As per the package design, we want to achieve a luxurious vintage look inspired by the Middle East and the orient and/or the ornaments that are found on the product. Arabesque and ornaments on the package is something we highly consider as it specifically targeting the regional market.
There are two color variants for the jar which are as follows:
We actually like the use of some recycled materials in the process. Perhaps a rigid kraft box covered with a nicely designed label will do the job. The reason behind our choice of recycled material is not limited to our care of the environment, but some efficiently utilized recycled materials look fantastic and can enhance the vintage theme which we strive to get.
As of the product's name (or text logo), we assigned a calligraphist to write "THE OUD VASE" for us in both Arabic and English and it will be ready very soon, but meanwhile I'd like to have the space of the title empty. Once the product's logo is ready, we will give it to you to add it in the design. Let your imagination run free & take the chance to unleash your skills.
Attached is a number of Arabesque ornaments which I find very appealing. Maybe you can use them as a reference to design something better.
1- I attached a picture of a letter stamp which I liked it ornaments very much because they kept an empty space for the text/title in the middle.
2- I liked the patterns used in Artichoke's branding because the designer invented a modern arabesque style which I haven't seen anything like it before.
3- I liked the patterns on the door of Mom's coffee shop because they combined geometry and floral Arabesque ornaments.
4- I like the use of ornaments in the gold door for the same reason mentioned in the first point.

*** The PDF file includes the main floral ornament which I used on the product's glass.
*** The Adobe Illustrator file includes two logo variations of our own registered trademark TIES.
