Design a Modern Tradeshow Booth for a Software Company
Check out chrisUa's Other business or advertising contest…
We sell asset inspection software to cities and contractors primarily in North America. Our customers use this software to conduct video inspections of various assets such as sewer and water pipelines, manholes, etc.
What's your vision?
We're looking to design a new 10 ft by 20 ft trade show booth. We've selected the backdrop and media waterfalls from this link: https://www.moddisplays.com/product/waveline-media-20ft-display-2006. Note that we will NOT be using the podiums in the link above, so please don't include those in your design. We have also selected the locking desk in size 38.5 high from this link: https://www.moddisplays.com/product/xrline-nld1-locking-desk. All graphic templates can be found in the links above. We intend to position the backdrop in the back of the booth and the locking desk front and center. We will place a flat screen tv with dimensions of approximately 50 inches wide by 30 inches high as close as possible to the backdrop. The bottom of the tv should be approximately 50” off the ground. The TV can be positioned anywhere the designer would like right to left along the backdrop. It will display an image or video that complements the rest of the booth design. The TV media is not part of this contest, though the winning designer will have the option to design it. While we encourage design freedom, there are several constraints that any considered design must follow: 1. The backdrop must prominently feature the PipeTech logo (with or without the circle). The words “Pipeline inspection software” or “Asset inspection software” must appear directly below the PipeTech logo. 2. The PipeTech logo and supporting colors must be red. The exact red value has changed over the years, so the designer may choose the color he feels best suits the rest of the palette. See attached examples for details. 3. The tagline “Simple data collection, powerful data analysis.” must be prominently featured on the backdrop. 4. The waterfall positions will be flipped from what you see in the vendor link. The waterfall with shelves should be a simple color or background design. It should not have any type of copy/logo. The other waterfall will display the names and logos of four products: PipeTech Inspect, PipeTech Mobile, PipeTech VR, and PipeTech Project. 5. Keep in mind that this is a trade show booth, so people will likely be standing in front of it. This means no critical information should be put in the lower half of the designs with the possible exceptions of the waterfall (as it is off to one side) and the locking desk. Other considerations: - I’ve attached mockups and high res files from a smaller trade show booth that we have used in the past. We generally quite like this look and feel, so if it suits your style please feel free to use it as inspiration or even copy elements exactly. - Our software is used by cities and contractors to inspect underground assets. We like the grey cityscape concept in the previous trade show booth (it’s a nice background but it also ties into what we do). That said I’d prefer to see variations of this concept that highlight roads and underground infrastructure as well as above ground infrastructure. That said, keep it simple and conceptual, not super detailed. - If you’re looking for inspiration for what underground infrastructure looks like, search Google Images for the term “sanitary sewer system”. The key assets that should be included in any drawing (if possible) are mainlines, laterals, and manholes. A mainline is the main sewer pipe that runs under a road. Buildings and houses are connected to mainlines by smaller pipes called laterals. Manholes go from the road down to the mainline every 250 feet or so to provide access. - With regard to the point above, in a perfect world we would tie in some of all of our product use cases. We want to subtly illustrate that PipeTech software can be used in a variety of contexts where our customers need us. Specific product uses are: PipeTech Inspect: our most popular software that is used by an operator in a truck to inspect mainlines and laterals. PipeTech Inspect works in conjunction with an inspection robot that travels through pipes and sends video back to the surface. The operators sits in a truck such as a sprinter van and uses our software in a “mini office”. Examples of this robot and truck can be found at https://www.ariesindustries.com/ or by searching the term “CCTV sewer inspection”. PipeTech Mobile: used by operators to conduct inspections using only a tablet such as an iPad. This software is usually used above ground to inspect assets like manholes or to locate the position of a lateral pipe underground. PipeTech VR: used for very sophisticated manhole inspections. This software is used in both the field and the office. It works with the robot shown here: https://rstechserv.com/portfolio/helix PipeTech Project: this software is cloud-based and used in the office. This software stores data from all of our other software and lets engineers perform analysis on the condition of their system. - We like the concept of each product having it’s own unique color. The PipeTech logo must be red and the logo for PipeTech Inspect must also be red (though it can be a different shade if you prefer). Feel free to choose other colors from the previous booth or select your own palette. The product logos really need to go on the waterfall without shelves so that if our product mix changes we only have to re-print this panel. - We do not want to use the icons that are displayed next to our old product suite on the previous trade show booth. We may design new icons (feel free to propose some!), or we may use an existing design scheme that uses the PipeTech circle icon with a different center graphic for each product (see example images uploaded). - We don’t have a lot of assets such as logos, colors, etc. I’ve attached what we have, but if need something specific email me and I’ll try to find it. - Some of our competitors include: http://www.wincan.com/en/home/ http://gnet.us.com/csd/Utilities https://itpipes.com/
I'd like to move this contest along quickly because we have an upcoming tradeshow (21 Feb) and must have at least a week to print the designs. There is ancillary design work that needs to be done as well. My preference would be to hire the winning designer for this work.
