jrosensweig got their new app design by running a design contest:
Sports & Fitness App Design
Check out jrosensweig's App design contest…
The mobile app will provide users with a fun and interactive interface that displays fitness related information extracted from wearable devices (i.e. FitBit) as well as genetic information as it relates to a particular sport or activity.
It should be fun and playful but not childish. A cartoon-like design is great but it must still be a professional and high quality app. A colorful app, with colors derived from a pastel palette.
iSportsApp (will most likely change)
Submitted designs should include the main screen (dashboard) and genetic details screen. The main screen (dashboard) is viewed after a user logs in and displays some fitness information like recent activity and achievements. The second screen would be a detail screen showing some genetic data in a graphical format. Genetic data will be measured as a range of values from low to high (i.e. potential for risk of injury) . Navigation is done via a simple menu (pull-out typically found in a mobile app). The attachments highlight a design that should be referenced more for content than look or layout. The first three example screens we uploaded are from the original concept design. The dashboard screen (with the badges) will be the screen displayed after the user logs in. The avatar of the athlete will have "hotspots" the user can click on to view information about genetic abnormalities (i.e. the red dot on the knee indicating a risk of injury) or other stats (i.e. the green area on the chest indicating the VO2 max potential). We are also looking for a designer that can create multiple versions of the avatar for a future feature similar to bitmoji.
