We are making Gin in Sheffield - the "Steel City". Target audience is initially local area around Sheffield. Sheffield is known for its steel making tradition where quality and excellence were paramount and Sheffield steel is reknowned the world over. I have trademarked the name Steel City Gin.
Whilst Sheffield is a city it is not like New York and doesn't have a skyline of skyscraper buildings. Many of the past logos have lacked detail or would be better suited to the front desk of a law firm.
Our Gin brand needs to embody the terms of hard work, determination and excellence.
Sheffield is know for stainless steel, a bright and shiny metal that it has made and exported all over the world. It is known for its precision and its quality - it is the world's best steel.
The brand needs to reflect these qualities and the hard work and determination of the local steel making industry in creating a world class product.
We like the words to appear to be made of stainless steel at the top but with the bottom to represent the flame red and orange of the steel in production - so going from orange, through red to shining stainless steel.
The log should be bold and strong - it should represent attention to detail and quality, it should not be overly simplistic.
