The product is really an app, and not a website, so the website should function more as a landing page with static content. A blog may be attached to it later on, but this shouldn't be the emphasis for the landing page.
We are targeting mobile gamers as the audience (e.g. Clash of Clans, Game of War), but the style need not emulate these styles. Having a hint of a gamer audience is preferable to being full on gamers only.
Color-wise, we aren't a B2B company, or a corporate company, so we want to stray away from palettes that make us seem old, stifled, or corporate. We also don't want to hit the other extreme of rainbows and unicorns either. Finally, while we like blues and greens, we don't want to appear overly neutral in tone.
