Boy Oh Boy Photography
I'm an energetic, cheerful and observant wedding and lifestyle photographer based in London, England. I'm proud to offer a highly personalised service to all of my clients and love taking the time to get to know them, so that I can provide them with a set of images that they really connect with.
In particular, I have a real connection with my gay clients, being a gay man in a long term relationship myself, and have decided to rebrand my business completely, to more closely (but not exclusively) align myself with this market.
I aim to become established as one of the leading Civil Partnership (gay wedding) photographers in the UK and need an eye catching, stylish and memorable logo/identity which will be used on my new website, business cards, letterhead etc.
The brand name is meant to reflect a number of different things. The term “Boy oh boy” can be an exclamation that something is great, but it also makes reference to the main target market and also to the fact that both my partner and I photograph the wedding.
The brand will be actively marketed to gay male professionals, 25 - 45. For all of my clients, it's a big decision to have made to get married and they're looking for someone to record their wedding with a sensitive eye and no preconceptions on how the day “should be”.
I am planning to develop my straight wedding business off the back of this brand also, primarily through word of mouth from my gay clients. Similarly, my straight clients would be discouraged by anything overtly gay, as this could marginalise them.
Everyone I work with appreciates photography and wants their photographer to record their very personal moments of their special day.
I need a modern stylish logo consisting of an interesting and eye-catching graphic and clear lettering. The logo will be on a clean white html website and separate blog.
Please avoid clichés pink triangles, rainbow flags, male symbols, hearts etc. Please avoid clipart.
Have fun with your imagination, I'd like to see everything from very colourful to monochrome with an accent colour. It just has to be contemporary looking.
Styles I like are:
Jean Paul Gaultier (the aftershave bottle and website):

I love the quirkiness of this brand (although am not overly keen on having a camera in my logo):

(my site will be a similar layout to this)
I will be building my brand both through advertising and networking, the logo needs to be eye catching and memorable.
The logo will be used in print (cards / letterheads etc), web, watermark on photos, so I need the logo and true type font in all the appropriate formats for these files (jpegs/psds – in CMYK & AdobeRGB).
Nothing religious please.
Thanks.
