Lucky Serendipity Upholstery and Furniture Studios
When I was homeless, my only wish was to have a place that was furnished with items that I liked, rather than items that were donated by the many people who took pity on my situation.
Then when I had a home and couldn't afford Ikea furniture, I found beautiful vintage furniture on the street. Since I couldn't afford to upholster them, I'd have to leave them behind. Then one day, I decided to walk into a an upholstery shop and ask the upholster if I could be his apprentice. He said yes, and my friends have wanted my furniture ever since.
I called the company Lucky Serendipity because that's exactly how I found my love of design and it seems to be that force in my life that has made me who I am today. I've had amazing experiences and met incredible people for no other reason than serendipity. And just as serendipity is than unexplainable spark in our lives, the tagline for LS is "spark a conversation"

The use of lucky symbols sounds cliche, but might work. The current logo has Chinese-inspired lettering. We considered using ladybugs (but it looked a bit childish) also. One other logo that we liked was the use of a bird, but nixed that after seeing it everywhere (i.e. Twitter)
As for colurs, we like fresh colour schemes. Look at http://www.verity.com for fresh and feminine look.
3 words to describe what we want in a logo:
1. Fresh
2. Stylish
3. Handmade elegance (i.e. not overly refined, but tastefully composed)
Also, we appreciate the clean look (i.e. use of white space). To give you a sense of the "look" we like, see the attached photos.
