Sociably Grown
We sell a smartphone app that allows users to learn the story of their food by using their phone to scan a barcode found on the food item.
Our company is called Sociably Grown and it is a smartphone app that connects people with where their food comes from. By scanning the barcode available on your produce you can learn its story - from the name of the farmer and his or her growing practices to how far the food item had to travel to reach the store. (Similar to the Good Guide app except for fresh food - fruits, veggies, milk, eggs, meat,) Our vision is to create a more sustainable farming system in America where farmers who are doing the right things and growing delicious produce can earn recognition and increase their revenues. There is a social media function built into the app that allows users to rate the deliciousness of a particular farmers product, which will be made available to other users before they buy the product.
We are targeting the organic, local, and sustainable movement. These individuals place great importance on the quality of their food and how it was grown. Most likely these individuals have a higher level of education and discretionary income. We believe white females, between the ages of 30 and 50, are the most likely to care about what they consume and the societal impact their food has on the world.
Part of our vision is to dream big and change the world for the better! We would love this message to be conveyed by our logo.
Working Slogan: Know Your Food (This does not necessarily have to be included in the design)
