Desired Color Scheme: Match Website (See Description For Color Values) Accepted File Formats: PSD, AI THIS CONTEST IS A REPOST OF AN EARLIER CONTEST...I REPOSTED TO DOUBLE THE PRIZE MONEY TO ATTRACT HIGH QUALITY ENTRIES... You can view the old contest here: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/contest/1576 Just for reference, I want something similar in look and feel to entry #3 and #4 by pathliner... I really want some custom graphics...Anyway, here are the details...Please feel free to ask any questions... Overview: We need some graphics that will go in our header... Prize Details: $450 for the simple logo + favicon $400 for the header graphic If we choose just your logo, we will pay $450...If we choose just your grahic, we will pay $450...Get the idea? I may also pay 150 to a second place contestant if I like more than one...This is additional prize money...I reserve the right not to award a second place if I don't feel like it... About Consumer Informant: Consumer Informant is both an information portal and a community for people who want to take control of their finances and save some money by understanding how things actually work in the world and utilizing these facts to their advantage...Never be screwed by your mortgage broker, realtor or insurance agent again...That last part isn't actually in the about page...lol To get a visual of the space we are working with please see http://www.consumerinformant.com/entire_header.png To get a visual of the desired use of space please see http://www.consumerinformant.com/header_withcomments.png Read Below For More Details... Color Palette: The site has three different color schemes at this point and we may even allow some stylesheet switching to allow users to change colors...I won't list all the color schemes, but at this point the main color scheme is as follows: #d6d197 - Yellow/Gold #eae7c3 - Lt Yellow/Gold #391f06 - Brown #6a4521 - Lt Brown #3b6a83 - Dk Blue #73aac9 - Blue #e7f5fc - Lt Blue #c35d25 - Orange (Accent Only) We are also using several shades of gray for text and other stuff... #111 #333 #777 #ddd #eee Most of the background on the site is white. Everything MUST blend well and look good with a white background. To see the colors on the web visit consumerinformant.com/colors.png Text: The website uses the usual Arial and Verdana for text. The logo should look good with these fonts. Target Audience: The target audience for our site is people 25-50 in age, moderately internet savvy, with a household income from 45k to 300k. Logo Ideas: We like simple, clean, prominent, but not overpowering logos. No wavy or angled text. Gradients and reflections are cool if not overdone. We want it to look modern, a little fun, sleek and sophisticated without looking stuffy. An all text logo would be ok. The bottom line is we want the logo to look great without being too complicated. The logo should work well with the graphic in the header and the main navigation in the pictures. The logo can be up to 515px wide by about 70px wide...It should be slightly smaller than that. Please see the links in the overview above for pictures of the space. Header Graphic Ideas: The graphic will reside in the upper right of the page...See about links in the overview for a picture. The space available is 500px wide by about 120px high...The image will need to be bigger than that so it runs off the page to the top right and bottom. The graphic should be able to fill a space at least 550px wide by about 160px high... The graphic should be of an informant looking guy or a combination of people. I kinda like the look of the guy over at http://wwww.consumerist.com. Something similar would be fine... The graphic SHOULD NOT be overpowering...More of something that resides politely in the background. It should also have a transparent background. This graphic should be able to be resized up or down to any reasonable dimensions...Big enough to put on a t-shirt...Small enough to put on some stationary... We don't want it to be rectangular either...Left left hand side should slope up to the top from the bottom...No real hard edges...It should just blend in the with background...Again, kinda like the consumerist.com guy... The graphic should be designed so that text can go over it at the top...There might be a login/register link at the top over this graphic...Keep that in mind... Favicon Ideas: Anything goes really...Most important part is that its some element thats been pulled from the logo or the header graphic...We would prefer an image from the logo or the graphic but We would take a cool looking little CI or something too...UPDATE: I would like the favicon to be a c with and i forming a magnifying glass...See comments for details... OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1) You must be willing to work with us after the contest to make small customizations if needed...Paid of course.. 2) NO popular clip art...We don't want something everyone else has...Something unique would be preferred... 3) All graphics used in design must be royalty free commercial use, etc... Thats all for now...Please post any questions that you may have...Thank you and good luck... This contest was originally listed in multiple categories: - Logo Design - Other Design Tasks

Simply wonderful. I sent literally dozens of absurdly detailed and picky revision requests, and Grifter perfectly executed every change with the utmost level of professionalism, friendliness, and had his own ideas and feedback for his own designs. Simply wonderful!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
