How BiotechIsCool started their logo design journey
Thanks for your interest!
I'm the founder of a cutting-edge biotech company that focuses on deep understanding of the immune system. Our initial services are designed for biotech companies and non-profit research organizations and the prices for these services are in the 6 to 7 figures. While there are other companies providing such services the differentiating features of what we provide are exceptional quality, outstanding one-on-one service, and trust that our work will satisfy the strictest government requirements (there is a general fear that not doing this right will result in the FDA not approving the drugs that our services support.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Desired audience initially are small to medium biotech companies that are getting new biotech therapies to clinical trials for the first time. They tend to be somewhat price conscious, but more keen to ensure that they are receiving services that engender the trust and satisfaction of the regulatory agencies. The services are very technical in nature, and our clients will trust us to just "take care of" this requirement while they focus on the other important aspects of their business.
I would like the logo to convey a sense of trust and quality while also appearing service-oriented - i.e. giving them a sense of comfort. I expect designers will have a sense of color palettes that address these feelings. Typical images that connote the immune system are antibodies ("Y" shaped molecules). You might also want to do a simple Image search on Google for the word "antibody" to get an idea. I've attached a PDF with examples of these biological images. Most company websites that are in a similar space (logos provided in attached PDF) have very straightforward logos with the name of the company being the main focus. While I am not averse to this approach, a logo that conveys what I've described above that can stand on its own would be very welcome. I realize fully that the name doesn't lend itself to creative freedom, but am hoping that you will help bring it to life!
Remember - I'm not the expert! Will be looking to you for creativity and interpretation based on the above so let the juices flow....
