The main thing to communicate is the candidate's last name, and the position that he's running for. It would be nice to incorporate something the shape of North Carolina.
The logo will need to be used on signs, billboards, printed material, web site, etc.
For the colors, we're leaning toward red, white and blue. But that's not set in stone. If you were going to pick one prominent color, it would probably be red.
