MOOD Mental Health
My name is MOOD Mental Health. I am a not-for-profit organisation (hence the skinny budget!) whose purpose in life is to GIVE HOPE TO THOSE AFFECTED BY MENTAL ILLNESS.
I do this in a number of ways....
I offer face-to-face support and activities, I get people jobs, provide registered training courses, offer community education programs and support the family & friends of those affected by mental illness.
I have been in operation for a number of years under the name Reach Out Mental Health (http://www.smha.org.au/site/). However, there are a number of organisations with a similar name so I have decided to change mine.
My personality (which I want to see come out in my new logo) is best described as Positive, Inspiring, Professional and Supportive.
If you're more visual person (which I'm sure many of you are) then this may help as well:
If I was a car I'd be a TOYOTA PRIUS
If I was a house I'd be a BEACH HOUSE
If I wore clothes I'd wear cool JEANS & CARDIGAN
My favorite music would be PINK
My favorite food YUM CHA
My favorite color GREEN
People who are effected by mental illness. All full of potential…some may be lost, confused and not able to see a way out. Mental health issues stand in the way of other parts of their life coming together. Certainty and a sense that everything will be OK has deserted them…Instead they may feel vulnerable and scared. Whilst having a need, they are sometimes reluctant to make contact and use our services. They may have been referred by family or another service or chosen to contact us themselves.
My Board currently have five new names to choose from. To make it easy for them to decide it's now time to see what each of these names looks like in logo form.
You can see my current logo here http://www.smha.org.au/site/
The logo must include the brand name MOOD Mental Health.
For the sake of this exercise I am not committed to any particular part of the current logo (font, colors, image)...You can be as creative as you wish...However, feel free to retain any aspect of it that you feel is appropriate. That said, I am quite fond of green!
In terms of weighting 'MOOD' is definitely the hero. The words 'Mental Health' are a secondary descriptor. 'MOOD' can be shown upper case, lower case or a mix...whatever you think best.
The criteria I will use for choosing the winning logo are:
- A clear representation of the concept of HOPE.
- A clear display of my personality traits as indicated above.
- An idea integrated in to the design...as opposed to simply a beautiful looking design.
Please avoid Clipart and any images used must be royalty and copyright free.
Good luck and please feel free to ask any additional questions.
AND BE CREATIVE!
