Jeremy Wright needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 346 designs submitted by 106 freelance designers.
We need a logo for a new website, EveryJoe.com. The focus is on topics related to male interests, the design should be fun and laid back (though clean and easy to scale down to less than 100px wide), and overall it should fit within the family of websites b5media has already established (Starked.com, Splendicity.com, Bizzia.com, Blisstree.com).
EveryJoe.com
b5media currently owns and operates over 300 blogs and four portal websites.
http://www.starked.com – celebrity news and entertainment reviews
http://www.splendicity.com – beauty tips and fashion trends
http://www.bizzia.com – business advice and insights
http://www.blisstree.com – perspectives on lifestyles and wellness topics
EveryJoe.com will be the fifth website – and the first of the websites to be geared predominantly toward a male audience. The topics covered on EveryJoe.com include gaming, tech/gadgets, entertainment (television, movies, music), sports, and a variety of life & style topics.
The logo should be clean, clearly fit within the family of brands identified above, include “.com”, and have some sort of iconographic elements that could be used as a jumping off point for website design itself.
- A young, fresh, ‘laid back’ look that is aimed primarily at a male audience
- Should be fun/playful
- Easily recognizable
- Print friendly
- Iconographic elements
- 2-3 colors
- Name should read – EveryJoe.com
- Overly complicated ‘over the top’ designs
- Too many bright colors
- A design that’s aggressively male oriented – to the point where it might alienate or annoy female visitors.
- Too many gradients
