They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. We are looking for a logo that has a similar effect. Can you design a logo that, just by looking at it, tells the story of what we do?
We find information about component parts and compare them to their competitors.
Oranges2Oranges.com will be a web application where users can find and compare technical components to competitive parts. The focus will be on attracting engineers and purchasers to the site to help them "Find the Right Part". Although we do not have a tag line yet, the two that have been considered so far are: "Dare to Compare" and "Find the Right Part".
If you have ever tried to buy a new mattress, it is almost impossible to compare them from store to store because the manufacturers change the model name for each retailer. The only real way to compare is to get all of the technical attributes and compare them. We will be providing this type of functionality but for components and part instead of mattresses.
We are trying to provide a service for our users to easily make these comparison and to provide a database of technical information for them to do it with.
The target audience is mostly engineers and product or system designers. These are typically people that see things as black or white, right or wrong, on or off. These people typically like the challenge of solving a problem or puzzle.
The audience is more heavily weighted towards males, mostly at least 25 years old.
We would like to see a logo that helps tell what we do and at the same time is not too serious.
We are looking for a logo that is distinct and easily recognizable from a distance. It should be simply but elegant and with a technical appeal. No colors have yet been chosen other than the obvious use of Orange.
We would like to have a logo that looks great in hi res detail on a website but also looks great and is just as recognizable embroidered on a messenger bag or back pack.
Ideally we would like to see a logo that emphasizes the comparison idea---comparing oranges to oranges and apples to apples.
The logo should also be:
- effective without color
- scalable i.e. works when just an inch in size
-Close to 1:1 ratio (length:width)
-No gradients (or there needs to be two versions)
We would like to receive Adobe Illustrator native files and eps files
