holtlabs got their new logo design by running a design contest:
New Logo for Study Website
Check out holtlabs's Logo design contest…
I want a new logo for "Studybulb" (www.studybulb.com) that's fun and friendly. It should be very "web 2.0", blue-green, and include a distinctive lightbulb logomark. Please take a look at the existing logo on the site for inspiration.
What's your vision?
Studybulb is a free website for students and teachers to exchange study materials. The current design and logo are something we put together temporarily for the launch. We're going to be implementing a new blue-green design and I want a better logo to match.
- fun, friendly - include a lightbulb logomark - blue, green - all original work, no royalities - say only "studybulb" NOT "studybulb.com" - "web 2.0"
- any slogans or other text in th image

It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
holtlabs collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Mogeek is the absolute best designer that I have ever worked with. I am a very difficult and demanding client and expect only the very best. He exceeded my expectations in every way. By the time we were done, I felt guilty not paying him more. If you have the good fortune of being accepted as a client by this designer, you should run, not walk, as fast as you can toward his work!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
