Score Salad
We are looking for a logo for our web-based sheet music sales company. We sell cheap downloadable scores as well as bound hard-copies of classical music.
A key feature of our site is that the customer can create a custom book of sheet music with songs of their choosing -- this is where the "salad" part of our name comes in. We then print, bind, and deliver their book.
On a personal level, we're a DC-based partnership of recent university graduates. We're laid-back, fun-loving guys who won't settle for a "real job".
The affordability of our product appeals mostly to music students of all levels as well as their teachers.
But to give as inclusive of an answer as possible, anyone who can read music and use the internet is a member of our target audience.
Although we aren't expensive or snooty, we do feel that our logo should have a certain air of dignity. My partner and I are passionate about classical music and we don't want our laid-back nature as people to get in the way of the seriousness and depth of the music.
The logo should have green in it -- in its current state, our website (www.scoresalad.com -- it's in its infancy right now) uses #3fc33f, but this is definitely open to change.
We'd like to have some kind of icon as part of our logo. Maybe a salad. Maybe something music-related. Maybe something abstract. We'd like to see what you come up with! Feel free to experiment with logos that don't contain an icon, too. We're open to anything and we can't wait to see your submissions.
We're thinking that the font should be modern, clean, simple, and professional. (the whole logo should be that way) I'd say "think web 2.0", but I don't want to constrain your imagination.
We plan to use this logo on the web and in print (on the front cover of our music, stationery, and business cards), so we would need to receive appropriate, scalable filetypes for these media. Definitely a layered .psd (RGB), at least. We're not too well-informed on what filetypes we'll need for these media, so you'll have to help us out with that.
Thank you!
