One Financial got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo for new revolutionary retail bank!

Accounting & Financial
we're a mobile-native retail bank (think checking account) serving low to middle income customers in the US without brick-and-mortar locations (we'll use trucks, stands on the street, etc., to acquire customers, but all servicing is done through the mobile phone)
Logo types to explore
we want to communicate our ethos, which is that we act with: + respect for our customers (despite their backgrounds, e.g. being homeless, formerly incarcerated, illiterate, etc) + fairness in our business dealings (forthrightness) + purpose to make our customers better off to evoke to our customers: + trust to bank with us (we're stable like big banks, but we're not exploitative like some banks) + reduced anxiety from having access/visibility + delight from ease in interacting with us (shockingly simple) we want to seem: + frugal, but not cheap
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $399.
