How Larry Salerno started their logo design journey
The Cura Retreat
I am a life long Entrenepuer that has built a number of successful companies. I have been very fortunate in my life. About eight years ago my wife was diagonosed with breast cancer and it changed the way I look at the world. It's time to give back. I live within an hour of one of the largst cancer research facilities in the world, MD Anderson. It is my mission to build a Retreat primairly for children, but not limited to, with cancer to be able to come to during their treatment stays and relax and get away from the reality they are facing. This retreat will be on a Lake in "camp" style cabins with a main building where we plan to have conferences and counseling. We also plan on having year-round family retreats and summer camps.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our primary audience will be families dealing with major issues in their lives like a family member dealing with cancer, loss of jobs, loss of homes, loss of family members ect. We plan on working with local churches, local businesses and local orginizations such as MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Childern's Hospital to provide support for all of those in need.
I am looking for a logo for our Retreat. I would like it to have a lake and a camp setting of some sort on it but that is not totally nessessary. Something serene and uplifting.
I would like to see color in some logos and simple designs in others. Either way, I want a simple design on the logo that can become recognizable and that I can use when I don't want the entire logo printed on something.
I would like the name on the logo: THE CURA RETREAT
I would like the following Quotes on it is possible. It may be too long so just play with it: “Where We Change The World One Child At A Time”
I want if fresh and to Pop!
Do not use any stock images or clip art in the logo.
I will need print files to be able to print it off, a web file to be able to use for our new website and files that are able to be sent by email in all forms.
