Shultzys got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Logo redesign - Name change & Graphic change (sausage to beer mug)

We are a beer-focused bar and restaurant targeting primarily Graduate Students, Faculty, and Staff of University of Washington
Hi! We started out 25 years ago as Shultzy's Sausage, a 12-seat hotdog stand and have grown into a 99-seat bar and restaurant over the years. We need to change our logo to reflect our current name (Shultzy's Bar & Grill) and to replace the sausage graphic in the center of our current logo with a beer mug graphic. We're happy to keep the existing color scheme (or something similar) and the existing typeface (or something similar). We've always had a circular logo (attached), but we'd be open to something rectangular if that works better with the new name/graphics combination. I included photos of our current logo (they're slightly different from one another, so feel free to go with either one, colors have faded from exposure to weather). I also enclosed a photo of a beer mug to show what we'd like the graphic to be inspired by.

And then… they selected 2 winners!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
